OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Uniting the community through helping others in need.
WHAT WE DO
We are a not for profit organization committed to helping local charities and others in need.
Our group began in June of 2007 with only a handful of people in Julington Creek Plantation. Now we have more than 50 members which include representatives from 33 of our neighborhoods within the plantation as well as 3 members from outside the plantation, an attorney, an accountant, a graphic artist and a professional photographer.
We have really lived up to our mission statement “Uniting the Community through helping others in need”. The work we do has allowed us to team up with several of the schools and local churches in our community as well as local businesses such as Nanak’s Landscaping, Williams Nursery, Enterprise Rent a Car, Belk’s Department Store, VyStar Credit Union.
In 2008 we accomplished five charity initiatives totaling more than $50,000 in charitable giving. We worked with Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition, the St. Augustine Wild Reserve, the Guardian Ad Litem program and the Council on Aging at Trout Creek and then finished the year with our “Giving Tree” program. We also sponsored a party for the children living in Habitat for Humanity homes so that each child could receive a gift for Christmas.
In 2009 we will again do one charity initiative per quarter and then wrap up the year with the “Giving Tree” program. Our projects this year will be:
1st Quarter – Animals & Environment – St. Johns County Animal Control - Dog Day Afternoon
2nd Quarter – Children – St. Gerard Campus
3rd Quarter – Seniors & Medical – Good Samaritan Health Clinic
4th Quarter – Homeless & Abuse – Celebration Lutheran food bank
Please check our website often as each initiative is planned we will add the details on how you can help.
